Chinese President Xi Jinping attended a welcome ceremony hosted by US President Donald Trump at the White House on Thursday.

President Trump delivered a speech and said he was delighted to welcome President Xi and his wife Peng Liyuan, and the members of the Chinese delegation to the beautiful White House.

"In May, we had the great privilege of visiting you in Beijing, where you received our delegation with spectacular and very beautiful hospitality. Now, Melania and I are honored to host you in Washington," he said.
