San Diego picked up a big home win on Friday night, defeating the Kansas City Current, 2-0. After a scoreless first half, immediate pressure on the Current goal in the second half saw Laney Rouse inadvertently redirect a San Diego cross into the back of the net amid pressure from Gia Corley. Then, toward the end of the match, San Diego won a free kick just outside the box where Kenza Dali whipped in a free kick that glanced off the head of teammate Kennedy Wesley and in to seal the result.
