Turns out the only motivation we needed to use nuclear energy was overloading the entire energy grid everywhere.
AI data centers just can’t be fed enough. So they’re turning back on three decommissioned nuclear power plants across the US in order to serve up their compute farm needs.
One of them includes the Three Mile Island Plant and should bring about over 2 gigawatts of power for Google & Microsoft’s buildouts.
