Thirty-four years ago today, China approved its manned space program. China's first taikonaut in space, Yang Liwei, who flew aboard Shenzhou-5 in 2003, looked back on how life in space has changed – from cramped spacecraft to better food and more comfortable living conditions.
He shared his thoughts during the "Forging ahead on the new journey" group interview with Chinese and international journalists, held on the 34th anniversary of China's manned space program.
