Thousands of job cuts are expected at Jaguar Land Rover (JLR), a year after a cyber attack brought car production to a halt for more than a month.
The company did not confirm the numbers but the Times reported as many as 4,000 jobs may be lost due to the impact of tariffs and a drop in sales.
Business Secretary Jonathan Reynolds told the BBC's Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg that when he meets the bosses of JLR and the Unite union to discuss the impact of the job losses early next week, they would focus on ways to "mitigate" the cuts.
JLR employs around 30,000 people in its UK operations and said in July that fewer than 300 people would leave the firm under cost savings plans announced at the time.
