지난 9월 19일 토요일, 동대문구체육관에서 제3회 서울시 동대문구 생활체육 단별 오픈 검도대회가 열렸습니다.

이날 이 자리를 채운 건 구경 온 관중이 아니라, 직접 죽도를 들고 뛴 생활체육인들이었습니다.

동대문구청장님의 축사, 장애인 선수분들의 타격 시범과 실전 경기, 그리고 각 단별 우승을 차지한 선수분들의 생생한 인터뷰까지 — 이날 하루의 뜨거움을 담았습니다.

On Saturday, September 19th, the 3rd Dongdaemun-gu Open Kendo Tournament (Seoul Community Sports League) was held at Dongdaemun-gu Gymnasium.

The people who filled the venue that day weren't spectators — they were the community kendo practitioners themselves, competing with their own shinai.

This video captures the congratulatory speech from the Dongdaemun-gu District Mayor, a striking demonstration and real matches by kendo athletes with disabilities, and candid interviews with the winners from each rank division.

Also featured: an interview with David Duke, a kendo player from Australia (with Korean subtitles).
