English:The starting point for changing the world lies in each person's everyday happiness. Speaking as if sharing a lesson with his two children, filmmaker Eiji Han Shimizu draws on his own experience to show how compassion - recognizing another person's suffering and choosing to respond - can spread from families to communities and society. Eiji Shimizu is a producer and storyteller exploring how personal happiness can shape communities and societies.
Through his work in film and creative projects, he has examined what it means to live a fulfilling life, often drawing from real experiences across different cultures. His perspective focuses on the idea that individual well-being is not separate from society, but deeply connected to it.
By sharing stories that bridge personal and collective experiences, he invites us to reconsider how small choices in our own lives can influence the world around us. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
