From the Desert to the UN Stage: A 40-year journey

From the Mu Us Desert to the United Nations stage, it has been a 40-year journey for Chinese sand-control pioneer Yin Yuzhen. Recently honored by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, she reflects on decades of planting trees and reclaiming barren land. Her story has reached far beyond China, thanks in part to an enduring friendship with an American teacher, Ronald Sakolsky. Decades ago, he raised $5,000 to support her tree-planting efforts. CGTN's Tian Wei speaks with both of them again following the award ceremony.
