Congresswoman Drops BOMBSHELL Plan to Abolish ICE!!!

Congresswoman Delia C. Ramirez (IL-03) joins Court Accountability Action's Alex Aronson to discuss her newly introduced Reimagining Safety Act. After the country witnessed extrajudicial killings on the streets this year and other state violence, Ramirez’s legislation seeks to curb the federal agencies that facilitate these horrific acts. The new legislation would dismantle the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and establish a new Department of Community Safety. They explore the legislation's proposed restructuring of federal public safety and immigration enforcement, its approach to government surveillance and civil liberties, and Congress's role in overseeing federal agencies and redefining their statutory authority.
