Strange Days imagined a future where people could record their memories, emotions and physical sensations, then let someone else experience them as if they were actually there. Lenny makes a living dealing these recordings, but he also becomes obsessed with replaying moments from his own past. Released in 1995 but set at the end of 1999, the movie’s ideas about virtual experiences, addiction and living through other people still feel surprisingly relevant today.
