UniMelb is proud to establish SGC-Melbourne, a new Structural Genomics Consortium (SGC) Affiliated Site and the consortium's only site in Australasia 🧬
Led by Professor Megan Maher from the School of Chemistry, SGC-Melbourne will enable Australian researchers to contribute directly to Target 2035, the SGC-led global mission to develop a pharmacological tool for every human protein by 2035.
SGC-Melbourne will be delivered in collaboration with partner institutions including WEHI (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute of Medical Research), Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre and Murdoch Children's Research Institute (MCRI).
By connecting Australia's strengths in protein science, structural biology and chemical biology with the global SGC network, along with our infrastructure and datasets, SGC-Melbourne will help strengthen our capacity to tackle rare and challenging diseases.
