Life doesn't give you what you want - It gives you what you've become ready for!
Kalaripayattu Trainer Kajal Srivastava explores how normalising failure builds strong, capable individuals who shape a better future and break generational trauma and how one's mind is always being shaped by one's body.
With giving a deeper historical context of the most ancient martial art form of India, this talk invites youngsters to start listening to their bodies to bring their mind to focus and make decisions that value growth! Kajal Srivastav is a Kalaripayattu martial artist and the founder of the TAVASI Movement, a social initiative rooted in courage, healing, and Indian cultural heritage. Through TAVASI, she uses the ancient martial art of Kalaripayattu as a tool for emotional, physical, and spiritual empowerment, especially for youth and women facing stress, self‑doubt, and social pressure. Her contribution to society includes conserving a traditional art form, conducting workshops for thousands of people, and promoting sustainable, Indian-made activewear through Swadesi Sportswear, linking wellbeing with eco-conscious lifestyles. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
