China is continuing the development of advanced manufacturing as a key strategic priority.
This 5G equipment factory in eastern China's Nanjing uses a massive, automated storage and retrieval system that includes more than 100,000 black bins, each containing a different raw material.
The warehouse supplies materials to the production lines 24 hours a day without interruption.
In Shandong Province, this factory that makes flywheel housings uses digital twin technology.
The company says technologies like AI are applied in about 80 percent of the factory's operational scenarios, as they move to a "zero-defect" standard.
China already has over 65,000 smart factories across various levels.
Among them are 15 "pilot-level" intelligent factories that span sectors including steel, petrochemicals, home appliances, and automotive manufacturing.
