Iran’s top security officials are warning that a renewed war with the United States and Israel could put critical regional infrastructure at risk, including undersea cables, data centers and AI facilities.
Mohsen Rezaei claimed these assets are worth more than $2 trillion, with particular concern over U.S.-linked infrastructure in the Middle East and around the Strait of Hormuz. Iran’s parliament speaker also proposed a new “Persian Gulf Data Authority” and warned Gulf states and businesses against supporting companies accused of aiding military operations.
The threats come as Gulf states continue pouring billions into AI and data-center infrastructure alongside major U.S. technology companies.
