Southport survivor criticises NHS trust over data breach

A woman who was seriously injured in the Southport knife attack has questioned why a hospital trust waited two years to tell survivors they had been the victims of a data breach.

Dance teacher Leanne Lucas was stabbed when Axel Rudakubana attacked young children attending a Taylor Swift-themed dance class, killing three youngsters.

NHS University Hospitals of Liverpool Group has apologised after hospital staff accessed the records of those being treated after the attack, while the Ministry of Justice announced last week it had launched an investigation after courts staff also accessed data.
