Evacuated village near Gyirong port

More than a week after the devastating mudslide hit Gyirong Port in Xizang, CGTN went to Labi Village, one of the closest locations to the disaster’s core zone. Thanks to rapid local evacuation, all villagers were safely relocated on the day of the catastrophe. Despite complex terrain, heavy mud deposits and persistent secondary‑disaster risks, rescue teams have been conducting non‑stop round‑the‑clock search‑and‑rescue operations. As they race against time to find survivors, dozens of locals stand fast behind the scenes, forging a solid safety line for villagers in the border areas.
