Meeting halfway: How mutual effort is changing Americans' views of China

Is the way Americans see China changing? A Chicago Council survey found 57% of Americans now favor cooperation and engagement with China. Sourabh Gupta, senior Asia-Pacific International Relations Policy specialist at the Institute for China-America Studies, attributes the shift to two things: leadership efforts on both sides to move the relationship in a positive direction, and growing exposure to China's culture and progress, which is reshaping perceptions among younger Americans.
