It looks like PlayStation’s giving up. Just not on the thing everyone wants them to.
Meta is now the proud owner of nearly 420 patents from Sony as it looks like they’re bowing out of the virtual reality space altogether.
The PSVR2 has been underwhelming by nearly every metric, including games that were developed explicitly for it, and so it seems like we’re not going to get a PSVR3.
Which is a real shame because the hardware is actually good, but when the most popular thing to do with it is to get it working on a PC, then it's clear it’s an abandoned PlayStation child.
