1945년, 인류는 전쟁의 상처 속에서 평화를 약속하며 유엔을 창설했습니다.
그러나 불과 5년 뒤,
한반도에는 또 다른 전쟁이 시작되었습니다.
1950년, 세계 22개국이 대한민국의 평화를 위해 전투 및 의료지원에 나섰습니다.
낯선 땅에서 자유와 평화를 위해 헌신했던 이들.
그들의 용기와 희생은 오늘날 우리가 기억해야 할 역사가 되었습니다.
대한민국 부산.
이곳에는 참전용사들의 희생과 헌신을 기리는 세계 유일의 유엔기념묘지가 있습니다.
76년이 흐른 오늘,
우리는 그들의 희생을 기억하고,
그들이 지키고자 했던 평화의 가치를 다음 세대에 전하려 합니다.
과거의 희생이 오늘의 평화가 되고,
오늘의 기억이 내일의 약속이 될 수 있도록.

UN PEACE — Remembering Peace, Leaving a Legacy
In 1945, in the aftermath of war, humanity established the United Nations, united by a promise of peace.
Yet, just five years later, another war broke out on the Korean Peninsula.
In 1950, 22 nations came together to provide combat and medical support in defense of freedom and peace in South Korea.
To those who devoted themselves to freedom and peace in a distant land — their courage and sacrifice became a legacy we must never forget.
Busan, South Korea.
Here stands the world's only United Nations Memorial Cemetery, honoring the sacrifice and dedication of those who served.
76 years later,
we remember their sacrifices and seek to pass on the values of peace to future generations.
May the sacrifices of the past become the peace of today,
and may today's remembrance become tomorrow's promise.
