Staggering video shows a fiery crater ripped into a Florida street after a Learjet plunged from the sky, killing all nine people aboard.

The private jet dropped roughly 27,000 feet in a minute before slamming into Palm Beach County in a crash witnesses likened to a missile.

Footage from the scene shows a gaping hole in the roadway, burning debris scattered nearby and thick smoke pouring into the air.

Investigators are now probing whether ice, severe turbulence or thunderstorms played a role in the catastrophic loss of control.
