What can a living room tell us about history?
At the Ashmolean Museum, Shedding Light reimagines a 1950s Caribbean living room to explore the stories of the Windrush generation and Oxford’s African and Caribbean communities.
Through family photographs, treasured objects and contemporary artworks, the exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the legacies of colonialism, the sugar trade, migration, and the people whose stories have helped shape Britain.
