지난 4월 4일 도모헌에서 진행한 2026부산비엔날레 큐레토리얼 포럼은 「행성적 시선, 다층의 지역」을 주제로 하여 2026부산비엔날레 공동 전시감독을 포함한 동시대 큐레이터, 비평가들이 함께 질문을 공유하는 자리로 마련되었습니다.

🗨️Session 1: 합의되지 않은 불균형 그리고 비동시성
에블린 사이먼스와 아말 칼라프 공동 전시감독은 올해 전시의 기획 방향성을 공유하며, 비동시적인 시간 속에서 예술이 어떻게 사회적 균열을 마주하고 목소리를 낼 것인지 제안했습니다. 이어 김성우 큐레이터는 제도적 틀을 넘어선 큐레이터의 확장된 역할에 대해 심도 있는 통찰을 더했습니다.

🗨️Session 2: 협업과 연대의 가능성
임수영 독립 큐레이터는 협업 과정에서 마주하는 관계와 시선이 외부뿐만 아니라 조직 내부로도 향해야 함을 강조했습니다. 이어 이봉미 연사는 ‘지역’이라는 축적된 관계 속에서 형성되는 실천적 감각의 사례를, 최상호 학예연구사는 실무자로서 큐레이터 활동이 지속될 수 있는 구조적 조건과 인프라 및 연대에 대한 실천적 화두를 던졌습니다.

이후 이나연 모더레이터(홍익대학교 초빙교수)의 진행으로 참여 연사와 관객들이 소통하는 자유토론 및 질의응답과 네트워킹 시간이 이어졌습니다.

관객들과 함께 하여 더욱 다채로웠던 이번 포럼이, 나아가 각자의 자리에서 실천으로 이어지는 시작점이 되기를 바랍니다. 또한 오는 8월 공동 전시감독의 기획 아래 진행되는 2026부산비엔날레도 많은 기대 부탁드립니다.

The Busan Biennale 2026 Curatorial Forum, held at Domoheon on April 4th, was organized under the theme Planetary Perspectives, Layers of the Local. It served as a platform for co-artistic directors of the Busan Biennale 2026, contemporary curators, and critics to share fundamental questions.

🗨️ Session 1: Unresolved Imbalances and Asynchronicity
Co-artistic directors Evelyn Simons and Amal Khalaf shared the direction of this year's exhibition, proposing how art can face social fissures and raise its voice within asynchronous time. Following this, curator Kim Sung Woo added in-depth insights into the expanded role of curators beyond institutional frameworks.

🗨️ Session 2: Possibilities of Collaboration and Solidarity
Independent curator Sooyoung Leam emphasized that the relationships and perspectives encountered during collaboration must be directed not only externally but also toward the internal structure of the organization. Panelist Yi Bongmi shared cases of practical senses formed within the accumulated relationships of the 'local,' and curator Choi Sangho raised practical discussions on the structural conditions, infrastructure, and solidarity necessary for sustaining curatorial activities.

The sessions were followed by a open discussion and Q&A, networking session moderated by Nayun Lee (Visiting Professor, Hongik University), where panelists and the audience actively communicated.
