We are proud to reveal a key scene from "Faust: The 11th World," the 2025 production by Korean Dance Company KYUL, directed by Lee Dong-jun. This specific sequence, titled "Shadows of Illusion," showcases the tragic moment after Faust’s sword pierces Valentin’s heart. Under a blood-stained night sky, Gretchen desperately gathers the shattered fragments of her world with trembling hands, trapped in irreversible despair. Renowned for his masterful expression of inner turmoil, choreographer Choi Sung-woo brings this deep anguish to life. His relentless research and exploration into seamlessly blending live performance with cutting-edge media art culminate in a dynamic and unforgettable stage experience.
Selected for the 2025 Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture Grant for Artistic Creation, this work has been recognized for both its artistic merit and public appeal. It is a bold reinterpretation of the classic Faust, seamlessly blending contemporary choreography with cutting-edge media art.
