From high schoolers who clearly need a parent-teacher conference to teens who look decades older than written, these on-screen casting choices are impossible to ignore. We’re counting down the film and TV characters whose actors were nowhere near the same age as their roles, from classic musicals and superhero stories to modern teen dramas. Our countdown includes “Grease” (1978), “Behind the Candelabra” (2013), “Never Have I Ever” (2020-23), “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” (1986), “Spider-Man” (2002), “Happy Days” (1974-84), “Smallville” (2001-11), “Alexander” (2004), “Yentl” (1983), and “Dear Evan Hansen” (2021)! Which one made you do a double take? Tell us in the comments below!
