Located in Munmak-eup, Wonju-si, Gangwon-do, South Korea, the Bangye-ri Ginkgo Tree is an iconic natural monument that has guarded the village for about 1,300 years. Standing about 32 meters tall with a massive circumference of 16 meters, its beautifully balanced, widespread branches make it widely regarded as one of Korea's most majestic and breathtaking ginkgo trees.

When autumn reaches its peak, the entire tree turns into a brilliant golden hue, offering a mystical and awe-inspiring experience—just like standing beneath a massive golden dome. 🚗 How to Get There (Transportation Guide)
By Car / Rental Car (Recommended):
Enter "반계리 은행나무" or the address above in Naver Map or KakaoMap.
Take the Yeongdong Expressway and exit at Munmak IC. It takes about 10–15 minutes from the interchange.
Free parking is available near the entrance (can get crowded during peak autumn foliage season).

By Public Transportation:
Step 1: From Seoul, take a KTX train from Cheongnyangni Station / Seoul Station to Manjong Station (만종역), or take an express bus from Seoul Express Bus Terminal to Wonju Intercity Bus Terminal.
Step 2: From Wonju Terminal or Manjong Station, take a local bus (such as Bus No. 51 or 51-1) heading toward Munmak-eup, get off near Bangye-ri, and walk about 10–15 minutes.

Tip: Taking a taxi directly from Munmak Bus Stop (약 10 mins) or Wonju City (approx. 25–30 mins) is much faster and more convenient!

Best time to visit: Late October to early November, when the golden leaves are in full bloom!
