The gaming industry is being attacked by AI in more ways than one.
Indie game developers all over are coming out in support of Drunken Goddess Reflux who announced that they were cancelling their public demo altogether.
Not because the game wasn’t ready, but because vibe-coding has made it trivially easy for folks to copy the concepts, artwork, and mechanics of a game and release it in a half-baked form based on demos.
Many smaller game devs have found that after spending ages working on their projects, they’ll have fully remade versions of it up on Roblox just days or hours after launch from folks who are using AI to just copy + paste what’s already there.
