Justin Vazquez is a Creative Director at Eidos-Montréal with over 25 years of experience designing stories and systems across music, film, television, and video games. Most recently, he led the creative direction for Grounded 2, the critically acclaimed sequel developed in collaboration with Obsidian Entertainment. He is also the author of The Build: A System for Self-Actualization, where he applies decades of experience designing systems that shape player behavior to the challenge of human growth.

In his TEDx talk, The Build: Self-Actualization is a System, Not Magic, Justin challenges the cultural myth that success inevitably requires sacrifice. Drawing on lessons from game design, psychology, music, elite performance, and his own journey through cancer, divorce, developing Grounded 2, and rebuilding his life, he presents a practical framework built on three trainable pillars: Autonomy, Mastery, and Harmony. By replacing shame with diagnosis and treating personal growth as a system rather than a mystery, Justin offers a blueprint for building a life capable of sustaining both achievement and fulfillment.
