The 51st Marine Corps Marathon, known as “The People’s Marathon,” brought tens of thousands of runners through Arlington, Virginia, and Washington, D.C.
The 26.2-mile course started near the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery before passing Georgetown, the National Mall and the U.S. Capitol, finishing at the Marine Corps War Memorial in Rosslyn.
Active-duty Marine Kyle King won the men’s race in 2:17:31, securing his fourth overall victory and third straight win, while Kaylee Slade won the women’s race in 2:44:34.
From the howitzer start and the Wear Blue Mile honoring fallen service members to the emotional finishes at the Iwo Jima Memorial, this was a celebration of endurance, community and the Marine Corps spirit.
