News24 host Jaimee Rogers warns Australia is falling behind Britain and the United States on biological sex in law, arguing women’s rights are going backwards following the Federal Court’s ruling in the Roxanne Tickle case.
“The world is changing. Australia isn't,” Ms Rogers said.
“In Britain, they've recognised biological sex in law. The United States moved in the same direction … here in Australia, we've just watched women's rights go backwards.
“The Federal Court ruled that Transgender woman Roxanne Tickle was discriminated against on the basis of her gender identity, with costs awarded against Giggle founder Sall Grover.
“The High Court denied leave to appeal this ruling.
“And if we don't change course soon, the rest of the world won't just be laughing at us.”
