서방경(徐方慶)·서극인(徐克仁), 임진의 의병


1592년 임진왜란이 일어났을 때, 나라와 마을의 기억을 지키기 위해 목숨을 걸었던 사람들이 있었습니다.

달성 서씨 서방경과 서극인은 장기현 향교의 오성팔현 위패를 용암 석굴로 옮겨 전란의 불길을 피하게 하고, 의병을 일으켜 왜적과 맞섰습니다.

어두운 석굴 속에서 지켜낸 것은 위패만이 아니었습니다.
그것은 한 고을의 역사와 기억, 그리고 다음 세대에 물려줄 삶의 자세였습니다.

작은 등불 하나가 어둠을 밝히듯,
그들의 이야기가 오늘을 살아가는 우리에게도 오래 남는 빛이 되기를 바랍니다.

When the Imjin War broke out in 1592, there were people who risked their lives to protect not only their homeland, but also the memory and heritage of their community.

Seo Bang-gyeong and Seo Geuk-in of the Dalseong Seo clan carried the ancestral tablets of the Janggihyeon Confucian Academy into Yongam Cave, sheltering them from the flames of war. They later raised an army of righteous fighters and joined the resistance against the Japanese invaders.

What they protected in that dark cave was more than ancestral tablets.

It was the history of a community, its memory, and a sense of duty to be passed on to future generations.

Like a small lantern burning in a dark cave, may their story continue to shine a light for us today.
