United Nations Day
October 24 marks United Nations Day, which commemorates the United Nations’ establishment in 1945.
From the Korean War to postwar reconstruction, UN aid became the foundation of Korea’s recovery.
After joining the UN in 1991 as its 161st member, Korea has grown from an aid recipient into an active contributor. Today, Korea lives up to the UN’s ideals through peacekeeping, development cooperation, and global partnerships for peace.
