US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has lashed out at Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney as trade talks between the two nations collapse.
On Monday, Bessent was asked if the Trump administration is still considering making Canada America’s 51st state.
Bessent explained that US President Donald Trump wants Canada to “come to the table and negotiate in good faith”.
The Treasury Secretary asserted that Canada was offered “quite a good deal” before trade talks collapsed last week.
