A high-horsepower Toyota Supra MK4 chasing down a BMW with a claimed $100,000 on the line sounds like exactly the kind of race the legendary 2JZ platform was built for.

But this BMW had other plans. ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ”ฅ

The race starts with both cars already moving, turning the matchup into a high-speed roll race where traction off the line matters less and top-end power begins to take over.

On one side is the Toyota Supra MK4 โ€” one of the most recognizable Japanese performance cars ever created.

The Supra's legendary 2JZ-GTE engine has earned an almost mythical reputation in tuning culture. Its iron-block inline-six architecture became famous for handling enormous increases in power, and heavily modified Supra builds have spent decades competing in drag racing, roll racing and standing-mile events around the world.

Large single-turbo conversions, upgraded fueling systems, strengthened engine components and serious drivetrain modifications have allowed extreme MK4 builds to reach horsepower figures Toyota could never have imagined when the car originally left the factory.

Then there's the BMW.

European performance cars have become increasingly serious competitors in the high-horsepower roll-racing world, particularly once turbocharged BMW platforms begin receiving upgraded turbos, fueling, engine management and drivetrain modifications.

And this race shows exactly why horsepower numbers alone never tell the full story.

As both cars accelerate, the BMW begins stretching the gap.

The displayed speeds continue climbing:

๐Ÿ”ฅ Supra โ€” 153 km/h
โšก BMW โ€” 169 km/h

Then:

๐Ÿ”ฅ Supra โ€” 209 km/h
โšก BMW โ€” 230 km/h

And the gap keeps growing.

Near the end of the run, the displays show approximately:

๐Ÿ‡ฏ๐Ÿ‡ต Toyota Supra โ€” 294 km/h
๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ช BMW โ€” 339 km/h

That's roughly:

Supra โ€” 183 MPH
BMW โ€” 211 MPH ๐Ÿ’€

At those speeds, this isn't simply about getting a good launch anymore.

Aerodynamics, gearing, turbo efficiency, power delivery and the ability to continue accelerating at the top end become incredibly important. A car that looks competitive early in the pull can suddenly begin losing ground once both builds enter the higher-speed portion of the race.

And that's exactly what makes this matchup brutal.

The Supra keeps accelerating.

The BMW just keeps pulling away.

With a claimed $100,000 attached to the race, watching the gap grow at nearly 300 km/h makes the result even harder to ignore. ๐Ÿ’ฐ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Legendary JDM 2JZ power versus German performance.

And this time, Germany walked away with it. ๐Ÿ’€

๐Ÿ‘‡ Be honest โ€” who did YOU expect to win?
