In a city that is constantly changing, what helps us understand who we are and where we come from?

On the TEDxSaigon 2026 stage, Mr. Tuan Le explored the role of cultural identity — not simply as a mark of the past, but as something that shapes how we understand the present and imagine the future.

Identity is not something that stands still. It rather is continuously retold, experienced, and reshaped through generations, individuals, and communities.

As the Mastermind Pioneer & Show Director behind internationally acclaimed productions of Vietnamese Bamboo Circus Shows: À Ố, Làng Tôi (My Village), and Teh Dar, he transformed familiar elements of Vietnamese life into a universal language of storytelling.

Tuan Le was the first Vietnamese artist to sign a long-term collaboration with Cirque du Soleil, and the first Asian recipient of the Excellence in Juggling Award from the International Jugglers' Association. Yet at the height of his global success, he made the remarkable decision to return to Vietnam.

Together with Lune Production, he pioneered the concept of the Vietnamese Bamboo Circus - an unique theatrical language that blends bamboo, woven baskets, traditional live music, and contemporary circus into performances that resonate across cultures. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
