कभी दर्शकों की तालियों और सीटियों से गूंजने वाले सिंगल स्क्रीन थिएटर भारत में अब इतिहास बनते जा रहे हैं. 1980 के दशक में भारत में लगभग 14,000 सिंगल स्क्रीन सिनेमाघरों की संख्याअब घटकर महज 2,000 के आसपास रह गई है.

Single-screen theaters in India, once echoing with the applause and whistles of audiences, are now becoming a thing of the past. The number of single-screen cinemas in India, which stood at around 14,000 in the 1980s, has now dwindled to just around 2,000.
