정보 탐색 과정이 인공지능에 의해 자동화되고 있는 오늘날, 우리는 정보로 재구성된 현실을 어떠한 방식으로 인식하고 있을까요? 《알렉사에게》는 동시대 미술가들의 실천을 경유해, 현실과 정보 사이의 미로 속에서 능동적으로 길을 찾는 방법을 질문하고자 기획되었습니다. 이번 전시는 1980년대부터 2020년대까지의 정보 인터페이스 변화를 아우르는 90여 점의 작업을 ‘보낸 편지함’과 ‘받은 편지함’의 구조로 소개했습니다. ‘보낸 편지함’에서는 현실이 인식되는 조건을 되돌아보게 하는 작업을 살펴보고, ‘받은 편지함’에서는 작업을 한 시대의 편린이 구조화된 대안적 아카이브로 재해석해 보았습니다. 《알렉사에게》를 찾아 주신 관객 여러분께 이번 전시가 일상에서 접하는 정보 인터페이스의 작동 방식을 되짚어 보고, 수많은 정보 사이에서 각자의 질문과 해석의 지도를 그려 보는 계기가 되었기를 바랍니다.

At a time when the process of seeking information is being automated by artificial intelligence, how do we perceive a reality reconfigured through information? 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝘼𝙡𝙚𝙭𝙖 was conceived to ask, through the practices of contemporary artists, how we might actively find our way through the maze between reality and information. Spanning changes in information interfaces from the 1980s to the 2020s, the exhibition brought together more than ninety works in two sections, “Sent” and “Inbox.” “Sent” presented works that prompt us to reconsider the conditions through which reality is perceived, while “Inbox” reinterpreted works as alternative archives in which fragments of a given era are structured. We hope that, for all those who visited 𝘿𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝘼𝙡𝙚𝙭𝙖, the exhibition offered an opportunity to reflect on how the information interfaces encountered in everyday life operate, and to draw their own maps of questions and interpretations amid countless pieces of information.
