A 19-year-old man was struck by a runaway car wheel while walking along a sidewalk in Santiago on Thursday, October 29.
CCTV footage from the municipality of Providencia shows the wheel bouncing across a road before striking the pedestrian, knocking him to the ground.
Local outlet BioBioChile reported that the wheel had detached from a moving vehicle and struck two cars before hitting the man.
Providencia Mayor Jaime Bellolio said the pedestrian suffered multiple contusions but was not seriously injured. He added that the vehicle involved had been identified.
