For Professor Reza Razavi, the mission to transform the future of babies born with congenital heart defects is deeply personal.

As King’s Professor of Paediatric Cardiovascular Science and Co-Founder of Fraiya Ultrasound, his work has always focused on solving one of medicine’s most complex challenges: detecting congenital heart disease earlier and more accurately.

That mission became personal when his own daughter was born with undiagnosed congenital heart disease. Determined to tackle one of the most challenging problems in prenatal healthcare, Professor Razavi and his team set out to find a solution. Their research led to the development of FraiyaScan and FraiyaDetect, innovative AI-powered software designed to work alongside ultrasound machines, helping clinicians capture the right images, take precise measurements and help detect abnormalities that may otherwise be missed.
