Steve Kerr is planning an offensive adjustment for Draymond Green entering the 2026–27 season: take the open three and cut down on turnovers.
Kerr revealed that he visited Green at his Los Angeles home about a month ago, where the two discussed changes for the upcoming season. Kerr explained that when Green is left open, he wants him to shoot rather than hesitate or force another pass.
Green shot 32.6% from three last season, while averaging 8.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists. He also committed 2.7 turnovers per game.
Kerr's reasoning isn't simply about turning Green into a scorer. An open shot keeps the offense moving, prevents defenses from completely ignoring him, and can reduce possessions that end in turnovers after Green passes up an available look.
