What if putting your thoughts on paper could help you understand yourself in ways you never expected?
In this personal and reflective talk, Sri Mintarti, known as Ninong, explores how journaling can become more than a writing habit. It can be a way to process emotions, untangle overthinking and make sense of life’s difficult experiences.
Drawing from her personal journey as well as her experience as a clinical psychologist, Ninong shares how writing helped her navigate self doubt and reconnect with her inner self. Inspired by the written legacies of Indonesian figures B. J. Habibie and R. A. Kartini, she reveals how expressing our deepest thoughts and feelings can open the door to greater self awareness and a new understanding of ourselves and our relationships.
This talk invites us to discover the quiet power of writing and consider how a simple pen and paper might help us begin reshaping our lives from within. Sri Mintarti, known as Ninong, is a clinical psychologist, former special education practitioner, and mother of a 17 year old. Throughout her career, she has been deeply committed to promoting mental well being across diverse populations. Her professional experience in special education strengthened her understanding of developmental and family dynamics, while her role as a mother further inspired her interest in children's and family mental health.
Currently, Sri Mintarti is focused on advancing her expertise in emotional regulation and its applications in psychological practice. She has a particular interest in expressive arts and journaling, exploring their potential to foster self awareness, resilience, and emotional growth. She believes that journaling is a quiet yet powerful practice that can significantly contribute to mental well being. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
