Adobe Replaced

I hope this dude has excellent lawyers because Adobe is NOT gonna take kindly to having their stuff copied like this.
People on the internet are celebrating because someone went through and created “open source” versions of the entire Creative Cloud suite. Photoshop, premiere, etc all have their own Artcraft variant.
And they’re pretty clear that they DID copy Adobe to make these programs, but used Claude Code to create a “clean-room replacement”.
That legally should mean they didn’t actually take anything because one person reads the OG code and writes a technical spec which then another person then develops based on that spec.
Which I’m sure Adobe’s lawyers will put to the test.
Right now, while most people are excited that these versions exist, they’re still a long way from the feature parity to be true immediate replacements.
The creator who goes by ai_art_is_art on Reddit says this won’t be a fly by night operation that disappears, but will actually stick around.
