Two machines designed with very different purposes, brought together for a Fast & Furious-style battle we never got to see on screen.
๐ THE STORY OF THE FLIP CAR
The Flip Car became one of the craziest purpose-built vehicles ever introduced into the Fast & Furious franchise.
It appeared in Fast & Furious 6 as part of Owen Shaw's arsenal.
And unlike the exotic cars and tuned street machines normally associated with the series, the Flip Car had one very specific purpose:
GET EVERYTHING OUT OF THE WAY.
Its extremely low wedge-shaped front end allowed it to get underneath other vehicles and violently launch them into the air.
During the London chase sequences, Shaw's crew used the Flip Cars as offensive weapons.
Police cars?
FLIPPED.
Traffic?
OUT OF THE WAY.
Anything standing between Shaw and his objective became a target.
The car didn't need to win a beauty contest.
It was low.
Exposed.
Aggressive.
And completely insane.
The Flip Car looked more like something built for combat than street racing. ๐

The Gurkha is nothing like the lightweight machines normally associated with racing.
It's an armored tactical vehicle.

Heavy-duty construction.
Huge ground clearance.
Military-style presence.
And the Gurkha name has its own connection to the Fast & Furious universe.
A Gurkha armored vehicle appeared in Fast Five, driven by Luke Hobbs.
That fits Hobbs perfectly.
While Brian and Dom were surrounded by tuned street cars and muscle machines, Hobbs arrived with vehicles that looked ready for WAR. ๐
The Gurkha's enormous armored body instantly gave Hobbs and his team a completely different presence.
It wasn't built to drift through Tokyo.
It wasn't designed for street racing.
And it definitely wasn't created to chase quarter-mile records.
It was built to survive.
