It is BAFFLING these things are still allowed to roam free
A Waymo self-driving taxi drove straight through a farmers market in the street, and NOBODY knows what to do about it now - who do you even BLAME for this?
No driver, no passenger - this thing just forced itself upon the Denver attendees - and while USUALLY local police’d be able to issue a citation to someone operating a vehicle in a pedestrian-only zone like this, it’s now causing more confusion than Kyler trying to run Bloodborne on his PC
It’s frustrating, because Colorado doesn’t have any laws in place to penalize driverless cars, so Waymo can pretty much do this sort of thing with immunity even though you and I’d get ticketed for it
And California already has regulations to hold the parent company accountable in these types of situations, but Colorado’s just treating it as a learning opportunity regardless of them having PLENTY of time to prepare for it
