Before yinz know it, Minecraft’s gonna be the new DOOM
The PS2 is now capable of running everyone’s favorite Terraria knockoff - and you know what? Throw a Wii version in there for good measure
A so-called “Heritage Edition” of Minecraft from OptiProjects is a complete reconstruction of the 1.2.5 version of the game’s source code that was optimized to heck and back in order to run on ACTUAL 2000’s era hardware
This isn’t an emulation-type-deal we’re dealing with - you’re meant to literally be able to load the image files for the games onto a flash drive and play them on the same PS2 you grew up running San Andreas on
I WILL say - the playstation version loads the game in just 2 chunks and coasts at around 15–30 FPS, so don’t DLSS 5 levels of visuals or performance or anything - but at the very least the Wii cut CAN hit 60 frames
