A Renaissance of Psychiatry | Stela Kudrnova | TEDxPrague British Intl School Youth

Through exploring the history of psychiatry Stela plots a potential future direction for the field, which incorporates feminist and non-Western perspectives. Stela Kudrnová has always been fascinated by the mind and its infinite mysteries. She discovered her interest in child psychiatry earlier than most, and it has followed her into her life as an IB student and (hopefully) future medical student. Her curiosity about neurogenetics and emerging psychiatric research shapes everything she does, and she's driven to help carve out more space for female voices in science. Her goal is to make a lasting dent in the world of clinical research and be a strong representative of female talent and ability in STEM. Influencing with intention matters to her, and she plans to use social media to reach people even while she’s still learning. These pursuits have shaped her understanding of medicine as a field where scientific depth and emotional intelligence stand together. At the heart of her path is an effort to bridge the gaps between what medicine knows and the lives it’s meant to support.
