In the battle Kamijo is forced to get involved in, and destroys the magic that has been cast on Index with his right hand, and in exchange for freeing her from her sad fate, he loses his memory.
Toma spends his days trying not to let anyone know that he has lost his memory, but one incident after another befalls him.
