Heatbit’s new Bitwater replaces the lower heating element inside many ordinary electric water heaters with 20 mining chips. The company advertises up to 34 terahashes per second and 600 watts of heat, arguing that electricity already being used to warm your shower can mine Bitcoin along the way.
The Genesis batch costs $899 and is scheduled to begin shipping in early 2027. Heatbit says it fits many 30-to-80-gallon tanks, while the heater’s normal upper element remains available during heavy hot-water demand. People have already reused Bitcoin-mining heat for spas, tulip greenhouses and even whisky production.
But Bitwater hasn’t shipped to ordinary buyers or undergone independent performance testing yet. Mining income changes constantly, solo mining is lottery-like and nobody should assume this machine guarantees lower bills or effortless wealth.
