As the FIFA World Cup 2026™ drew to a close at MetLife Stadium, Shanghai Jiao Tong University celebrated a major achievement in cultural design and international collaboration.
The USC–SJTU Institute of Cultural and Creative Industry (ICCI) partnered with Shihezi University and national Xibe embroidery master Yang Xiuyu to design an official World Cup merchandise collection(). Facilitated by an SJTU alumnus-founded FIFA licensee, the series integrated traditional craftsmanship into embroidered footballs, apparel, and accessories, bringing Chinese intangible cultural heritage to the global sports stage.
