From 9-5 To NBA Superstar 🥶🏀

Yaxel Lendeborg went from unloading pallets in a warehouse to becoming one of the NBA's most exciting rookies, and his journey is one of the most inspiring stories in basketball! Growing up in Pennsauken, New Jersey after moving from Puerto Rico, Yaxel played just 11 varsity games in high school because of his grades and didn't think college basketball was for him. Instead, he was working a 9-5 warehouse job right alongside his mom, Yissel Raposo, who worked multiple jobs, drove Uber, and cleaned churches on weekends to provide for her family. Watching his mom put in that hard labor every single day lit a fire under him, and she pushed him to chase his dream. From there, Yaxel went to junior college at Arizona Western, transferred to UAB, and then joined the Michigan Wolverines under Dusty May, where he won Big Ten Player of the Year and a 2026 NCAA National Championship. Nicknamed the "Dominican LeBron," Lendeborg was selected 11th overall in the 2026 NBA Draft by the Golden State Warriors and has wasted no time proving he belongs. Playing alongside Stephen Curry and Draymond Green, the even-keeled rookie dropped 31 points, 12 rebounds, and 6 assists against the Denver Nuggets in just his fourth NBA game, becoming the first Warriors rookie to put up 30-10-5 since Steph Curry himself in 2010! From the warehouse to Chase Center, Yaxel Lendeborg is playing for his mom, his family, and everyone who ever had to work a 9-5 to chase a dream. For Yaxel, it's now or never.
