Before CGI This Dog’s Double Was Just A Guy In A Costume

In a hilarious moment from Disney's 1976 comedy The Shaggy D.A., filmmakers relied on clever practical stunt tricks long before CGI existed. While a real Old English Sheepdog starred as the main character, complex physical action required hiring a human stuntman in a full sheepdog suit. When corrupt villain John Slade and his henchman Raymond spotted the unlicensed dog, they called animal control to lock him up. The costumed stunt double instantly took over, running on two legs, crashing through the office, and knocking over staff to make a wild getaway. Seeing a full-grown stuntman in a giant dog suit wildly wrecking an office to escape the pound is pure gold. #deanjones #theshaggyda #disney #practicaleffects #behindthescenes #funny #viral #funnymoments #shorts #comedy #popculture #bloopers #beforecgi
